This project was initiated following the acquisition of the site by a new owner, who obtained planning approval for a “Detached three-storey block of seven flats, including underground parking, landscaping, and a new access point from Claremont Lane.”

The new owner had a vision to transform the building’s character by modifying its elevation, opting to replace the traditional brick façade with a contemporary design that utilizes innovative materials.

Although the internal layout remains consistent with the previously approved application, enhancements to the exterior have been implemented to accommodate additional volume on the ground and first floors. This expansion is intended to provide the necessary space for a more sophisticated display of the selected materials. The proposal features large hanging tiles in a dual-color scheme of light grey and dark grey, carefully designed to elevate the visual impact of the building.

The additional volume integrated into specific areas of the structure is aimed at enhancing the aesthetic appeal, allowing for a striking contrast between the two tile colors. This deliberate design choice aspires to create a more dynamic and visually engaging façade that will captivate future residents and visitors alike.
